Early Bird special on now for NB trade show vendors

Vendors planning to participate in the annual trade show in North Battleford still have a few days if they want to take advantage of the Early Bird registration prices.

The 34th annual Agri-Mex 2019 Farm, Trade and Home Show will run April 4, 5 and 6 at the Exhibition Park.

“It’s a spring trade show, so there is a little bit for everybody,” said Jocelyn Ritchie, general manager of the Battlefords Agriculture Society, the event organizer.

Ritchie said it may seem as though the event is a long ways off, but it will be approaching quite soon.  

The Early Bird special rate for vendors is available until Jan. 31 for a discount on a booth rental at the show.

Vendor registrations for booths will be accepted until the end of March. Ritchie reminded all new exhibitors they will be entitled to receive a 25 per cent discount for their booth fee until the end of March.   

“We do have a couple of new exhibitors that we haven’t had before,” Ritchie said. “Hopefully, we’ll get even more. There are a few new businesses in town. It would be a great place to showcase (items), and show everybody what they have to offer.”

The event can accommodate about 150 booths in total in the Agrivilla and Agriplex buildings. There will also be displays in between the two buildings. Last year more than 100 vendors took part in the event.

“It’s always a really good show. There is always a wide variety,” said Ritchie.

“We have businesses, financial institutions, farm machinery and home-based businesses,” Ritchie added of some of the organizations participating. 

There will also be a number of food products at the event as well as a concessions stand.

The Battlefords Humane Society will also be at the trade fair with a booth again this year, showing some pets available for adoption.

A free pancake breakfast at the Agri-Mex will be held on April 6, the last day of the show, starting at 8 a.m. for exhibitors, and then beginning at 9 a.m. for the general public.

Ritchie said new this year, organizers will have more games and entertainment for children to take part in.

“Our hopes are that we are going to have some bouncy houses, wagon rides, and interactive games for the kids as well, to make it more of a family event,” she said, adding there may also be a small petting zoo.

Ritchie said people usually attend the trade show from the Battlefords as well as visitors from outside the area.

“We always have people from all over Saskatchewan and some from Alberta, and the odd one from B.C. and Manitoba,” Ritchie added. “I encourage everybody to come and check it out when it actually happens. I’m sure you will find something you want to purchase.”
